Patch 1.43 out!

- Hardcore dungeon mode
- New legendary character
and of course the usual bug fixes & dungeon balancing.

The game might not be the most profitable thing in the world, but the huge amount of positive feedback received definitely makes this worth it!

Boost Bar patch & Review problem

Hello everyone!

I hope you enjoy the mini Boost Bar patch 1.33 I uploaded.

Your help would be appreciated to keep the development rolling further.
I have gotten many encouraging comments and good ratings, which I am really grateful and happy about.
However, I also need fuel/coffee to keep running, so Pocket Guild needs wider
attention and reviews.

iOS release!

some have probably already heard, the iOS version has been released a couple of days ago!

With the release, I have my hands free again to develop the game further. The frequently requested more interactivity in dungeons will be implemented in with the next small patch.

It will also make your chosen class more special. Healer / Tank / Damager player characters will each have their own bonuses with the new interactive feature which I'm working on.

Patch 1.26

Some of you may have noticed that patch 1.26 had arrived, there are no new visible features on this one. Bug fixes, balancing (less grinding etc.).

After receiving some requests, the game also got released on Amazon underground!

Still mainly working on iOS version for now.

Testers needed for bug hunting!

Hello everyone!

The following mechanics are implemented in the alpha:
Mastery tree + Activated abilities - Graphics of the buttons still being tuned
Members able to gain stats through dungeons
Basic sorting + class icons next to names
Send members to do quests
4 Dungeons
Decoration Shop
New music, sound effects ( More being implemented )
Small things such as UI tweaks, loading screen etc.

I'm looking for active people who play from the beginning to the end, and provide reports if something fishy is going on. It would speed up the release greatly!

Warning: This is alpha, meaning that you will probably experience some things that shouldn't be there + typos. :-)

Quick update!

Just a quick update to break the silence again :-)

Everything is going well, there will be 4 dungeons, with 15 new bosses. The raiding screen also got an overhaul. Now with more space, and a more cleaner look.

The user interface in general will evolve bit by bit with each patch. You might notice some of them in the feature patch.

Dungeons / Quests will now also reward a type of currency, which you can exchange from the shopkeeper for goodies.
(Shopkeeper at your service)

Small bug fix patch released & Feature patch

You may have noticed, a few days ago I released a mini bug fix patch. 

I also decided to expand the feature patch with some more things.
This will prolong development time a bit, but will be pretty cool once it's out :-)
So if things go according to plan, you will see the following in the feature patch:
Mastery tree + activated abilities in dungeons
Members able to gain stats through dungeons
Basic sorting + class icons next to names
Send members to do quests
3-4 New dungeons
Decoration shop
+ Other things such as, new music, loading splash screen etc.

Once this patch is out, and if the feedback is positive, I'll also release Pocket Guild to iOS.

Bug fix v2 & Progress report

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the late post, have been very busy with Pocket Guild lately! :-)

Uploaded a new bug fix patch to the beta testers, aimed to fix the legendary freeze bug & arena tournament empty bug. This time it should work for everyone hopefully.

I'm also having good progress with the mastery feature patch, which is going to be the next thing i upload to the beta testers, if no bugs are found.

I sketched a simple sorting mechanic as well, which would serve as a placeholder until i figure out how i could show the members in a more spreadsheet-ed way, designed for smartphones.

Mastery and priorities.

Sorting/spreadsheeting is moved up on the priority list.

I also forgot to mention, that patch 1.12 should fix all upcoming tournaments, so if you have a tournament from the old version before 1.12 in your event window, it will still be buggy!

I'm also aware that some people are still experiencing the legendary freeze bug. I'm working on it around the clock :). There was a lot of code rewritten, so i expected something like this to happen.

The mastery skills are already designed, and being implemented in to the game. I'm making sure they will be strong, and have significant impact in fights, with adding an extra layer of depth. From resurrecting players, to dealing noticeable chunks of damage.

Patch 1.12 is out!

The bug fix / tutorial improvement patch is out, this means the mastery feature update is the next big one!

Here's what it will contain for sure:
  • Members able to gain stats through dungeons
  • New dungeons
  • Mastery tree
  • Spells provided by the mastery tree to be used inside dungeons!

Here's what it might contain if i'm progressing well:
  • A simple guild decoration system
  • Sending players on solo quests
  • More sorting options
Smaller hotfixes might come between the big updates, if people find things that shouldn't be there :-).

Next patch contents

Currently: Testing the patch myself. Plan to give the testers the patch within the next 2 days.

The bug fix patch contains:
  • Legendary screen should not freeze anymore
  • Glitched fonts / images should be fixed
  • Expanded the tutorial section of the game
  • More devices should be able to run the game smoothly
  • Tournament's last team empty bug fix
  • Fixed a bug that caused a crash when starting the raid
  • Small tweaks. Example: Ryu's event re-balanced.
  • Many typos have been corrected
  • Prepared some of the environment for the mastery feature patch

If it passes without issues, should be able to release it to the public and start working on the mastery feature patch. Once the mastery patch is done with the extra dungeons + features, hopefully an iOS release will be on the horizon :-)

Work work!

What a busy week! Got a lot of valuable feedback, will work on them in priority order as planned.

I'm still working on the glitch bug, fixed already a large portion of it. It takes time as i have to touch quiet a bit of code.

The last couple of days have been a real roller coaster, I never thought game development can be so stressful / fun at the same time :-)

Progress & Sale

After gathering a lot of feedback, I decided not to change the price until the mastery feature patch comes in. I'm having good progress in fixing the bug.
Made plenty of notes from everyone's valuable feedback! I happily change things, if it improves Pocket Guild!

So far the most requested things were:
  • Mastery tree & Activated abilities in dungeons
  • A more reliable way to improve your favorite characters that you wish to keep
Of course new dungeons would roll out as well to accompany these two new features.

The future

My first priority is making sure most devices can run the released game smoothly, and fix any problems users may experience depending on their device.

The future:
As long as people show interest in the idea of this game, I will keep rolling out updates.
The following things are in the air so far.
  • Mastery tree 
  • New dungeons
  • Legendary items
  • Make the dungeons more interactive, in a way that is meaningful.
  • More events
  • More PvP?

Release date & Thank you!

First of all I would like to thank all the beta testers, both old and new, for their detailed feedback.

I'm very excited to announce that next week Pocket Guild will see the world!
The game received a lot of interest I wasn't prepared for.

The targeted release date is:
Wednesday / Thursday
Starting with a lower price as a token of gratitude for the people who have been following the progress. It will be 2 euros excluding taxes. Hopefully this is affordable for everyone, and we can fund the sad herring's coffee for a while! ;-)

What is being worked on?

Hi everyone!

You might wonder what is going on right now.
I have received a lot of feedback from the testers, some of them could be frustrating for you guys to experience, so I'm fixing these things before release.


- Users accidentally pressed the reset game button, resetting their game. ( You need to confirm now to reset)
- Some of the text could be more readable by switching the order that is in.
- Guild member lists are now ordered by their gear, to make things more readable.

As you can see these are all just life quality things, nothing hugely important, but something I feel I still must do before the release :-)!

After released on android, will come to iphones in the following week hopefully!

To IAP, or not to IAP...

I have been asked many times now how the game will be sold. While there are many people talking about piracy everywhere on android, I still firmly believe in a one time paid app.

So in short: The game won't contain IAP, and will be affordable :-)

Everlasting power!

Been quietly testing performance in the last couple of days, mainly checking how much the game effects battery levels.

So far the game easily ran for around 6 hours nonstop on an android Z1 compact, will keep an eye on this until release of 1.0!

Otherwise been quiet lately, just adding the last bits of audio mechanics, and getting ready to send it to more people for testing :-)

Pro tip of the day!

Get an iOS user to test your game on an android phone! 
They always do weird things that can help you catch some very sneaky bugs!
Note the black box behind the characters! 
This only happens if the game is open for 14+ hours and is not reset!
Quitting + starting up the game again fixes this.
